![]() And as you might imagine, there have been many. Now let’s get to the fun part: Music performances at Red Rocks. In one of the less glorious aspects in Red Rocks’ history, the area around it was inhabited for hundreds of years by the native American Ute tribe, until they were displaced in the 19th century, according to this collection of facts about the venue, published by the Denver Post in June 2016. There are traces dating back to the Jurassic period 160 million years ago, including dinosaur tracks and fossil fragments. It took the natural amphitheater more than 200 million years to form. What’s truly amazing to me is the age of the rock formations. After a five-year construction, Red Rocks Amphitheatre opened to the public in 1941. The price? $54,133, which is the equivalent of approximately $797,920 today – quite a bargain, if you ask me! Denver architect Burnham Hoyt was brought in to design the facility. The next important milestone in the venue’s history occurred in 1927, when manager of Denver parks John Cranmer convinced the city to acquire the area of Red Rocks from Brisben. Brisben, a magazine publisher and automobile entrepreneur, had the vision to leverage the site’s natural acoustics for entertainment purposes. Construction of the facility near Morison, Col., 10 miles west of Denver, began in 1936, though the first concerts there were produced by John Brisben Walker as early as 1906. How long? It somewhat depends where you start. ![]() Red Rocks Amphitheatre has a long history, something I had not been aware of and frankly had not thought about. Plus, my last post in the venues category dates back to August 2019 – another good reason to look at one of the places where the ultimate thrill in music takes place: The live experience! This gave me the idea to write about what must be one of the most magnificent outdoor performance venues. It keeps getting views, with the most recent occurring just a few days ago. Meanwhile, DMX has revealed that he has a collaboration on the way with U2’s Bono called ‘Skyscrapers’.In January 2018, I did a post about Bad Company’s album Live at Red Rocks. The news comes after YouTube, Island Records, Interscope, UMe and UMC announced in September the relaunch of U2’s Official YouTube channel, with weekly releases of the band’s most iconic music videos and never-before-seen content on YouTube, all remastered. “And especially exciting to be joined by such a brilliant line-up of fellow travellers in Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines D.C., Carla Morrison and Feu! Chatterton.” “Every show is memorable for us but these four particularly so… It’s exciting to be on the road again… Embracing all the wonder of the virtual road,” the band said in a statement. French band Feu! Chatterton will be on support duties. It includes an emotional performance of Patti Smith’s ‘People Have The Power’. U2 returned to the French capital less than a month after the Novemterrorist attacks on the city for two rescheduled shows. It will be preceded by a special one-off performance by Carla Morrison.įinally, iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE: Live in Paris will be aired on April 10. On April 1, U2’s Mexico City performance at Foro Sol Stadium from their PopMart Tour in 1997 will be broadcast as Popmart: Live From Mexico City. Fontaines D.C. will open the show with a performance recorded in their hometown last year. Recorded on Jat Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado as part of the band’s War Tour, the career-defining show helped establish U2’s reputation as one of the world’s best live acts. Next up, U2: Live At Red Rocks will follow on March 25. Dermot Kennedy will open the show with an exclusive solo performance recorded earlier this month outside Los Angeles. ![]() The gig celebrates the band’s return to the legendary Irish concert site on Septemfor their first performance on the banks of the River Boyne in over 20 years. ![]() Patrick’s Day (March 17), the first concert to be streamed will be U2 Go Home: Live From Slane Castle. The series marks the first time that three of these concerts – Slane, Red Rocks and Mexico City – have been made available digitally. U2: The Virtual Road will see the band team up with YouTube to broadcast a series of four gigs – Slane Castle (2001), Red Rocks (1983), Mexico City (1997) and Paris (2015) – exclusively on their own channel. U2 have announced that they will post some of their concerts online for first time ever as part of a new virtual series.

Try to connect.for me, I get a 'permissions' error :-(What is the expected output? What do you see instead?I expect to be able to read/write/delete/modify the remote files just likeI can with webdrive on a pc (windows 2000/xp).Instead I can't even open the default folder (which moments before andafter opened fine in cyberduck and fireftp in firefox). What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?I installed the latest compiled binary version available for download andinstall as of today (May 8, ie I downloaded and installed macfuse andmacfusion today.I restarted after macfuse installed and followed all ofthe macfusion directions). Set the permissions in cerberus so that a user must provide a usernameand password, but that user has full read/write access (all permissionboxes checked) to the folders they are assigned (for my primary workcomputer I have access to the entire 'c:' drive, so in macfusion ftp thedefault folder I see after login is simply called 'c').3. Install cerberus ftp server (or probably any ftp server on a windows2000 pc)2. When I connect to my 'atspace' account, there is no problem, when I connectto my account on the university's novell server, there is no problem. What steps will reproduce the problem?1. This is crazy as it is no problem from any other software. One note, this only happens when connecting to an ftp server on a pc atwork. I can connect to any of them with cyberduck, or withfireftp plugin for firefox with my mac with full read and write capability(though for some reason I can not modify files on those work computersusing any mac ftp client whereas doing so with windows-based ftp clientslike webdrive is no problem), but when I try to even open the defaultfolder using a macfusion ftp connection (macfuse and curlftpfs I think ituses) the folder will not open and I am told that I do not have'permission'. Macfuse with macfusion is the closest thingI can find to webdrive, but there is a serious problem. My workplace (electrochemistry lab) uses windows 2000 computers withcerberus ftp servers. I am trying to use macfusion and macfuse on my mac like I can usesouthriver's webdrive on a pc. Is Apple’s Notes perfect? No, but it’s hard to see where it won’t fit the needs of most people. That feature alone makes me consider Evernote from time to time. You can organize notes in folders (and subfolders), but it does lack the ability to create new notes via email like Evernote. Like Evernote, you can add text, files, images, and more to notes. It has some nice integrations built into macOS where you can add Safari items right to Notes. Apple NotesĪpple Notes is built into every new Mac, and your storage is included with your iCloud account (5GB for free). Upgrading gets you 10 GB of monthly uploads, offline notebooks, forward emails into Evernote, and automatic OCR scanning of your documents.Įvernote can be downloaded for free on the Mac App Store. One aspect of Evernote that’s really well done is its web clipper for saving information from webpages.Įvernote offers a free version, but I would advise the paid upgrade if you plan on using it. For me, it’s just a service that stayed stagnant while others around it evolved. Evernote isn’t bad, but I just don’t love it. I feel like OneNote is a better everything bucket, and Apple Notes is built into every Mac and iOS device. My problem with Evernote has a lot less to do with Evernote, but more than there are just more polished alternatives. ![]() I used to hate Evernote, and then I loved Evernote. You can load anything you want into Evernote, and it will sync it everywhere else you use Evernote. It’s a perfect example of the everything bucket. It originally launched in 2008 as a web service and has added clients to pretty much every platform over the years. EvernoteĮvernote is one of those apps I sort of don’t remember not existing. Based on the experience I’ve had with note-taking apps for the Mac, I came up with six great options depending on what’s important to you. When looking at the best note-taking app for the Mac, the factors that are important for me are: ability to organize in folders/tags, speed of search, and ease of adding new notes from other apps. On the iPad, handwriting integration with Apple Pencil might take priority. On the iPhone, speed of starting a new note might take priority. When looking at macOS note-taking apps, your needs may look drastically different from what you’ll want on iPhone and iPad. I’ll run through a few of the apps, and then I’ll help you figure out which will be the best note-taking app for you to try. Most of the apps offer free trials, so I advise you to check them all out. I’ve used dozens of apps over the years, and I have opinions on what a note-taking app for Mac should look like for my use cases. When I am looking for the best note-taking app for the Mac, I am looking for a few different things: sync to iOS (and web if possible), easy to add new notes, and easy to look up existing notes. You then have apps like Bear and Apple Notes which aim to live somewhere in the middle. There are apps like Evernote which aim to be an “everything” bucket and apps like SimpleNote that only handle plain text notes. ![]() Note taking apps for Mac are a fun category to look at because of the variety of options on the market. ![]() If you're not earning more than the median salary, your objective should be to increase your earnings to be at least as high as the median salary (which you can do by asking for a pay rise, looking for a better paying job, etc).
